Fatima Donaldson’s create | capture | edit | show (CCES) program focuses on providing an effective curriculum to expose and develop each student with the various aspects of photography.
create
We start at the beginning with create. In this segment of curriculum, classes are designed to promote creativity in your photography. The area focuses on art and photography history, composition, aesthetics and finding your inspiration.
capture
The word camera originated from camera obscura "dark chamber" and it's in our capture segment we shed light into the dark mystery of the camera and the technical aspects of photography. capture focuses on camera settings, lighting, composition, exposure and the many elements that will let you capture the image you have visualized in your head.
edit
Moving out of the dark ages and into digital photography, we are afforded the luxury of digital editing. Many techniques are similar to those used in the darkroom while others have evolved significantly in the digital age. edit focuses on the post production skills that can take your good image and develop a great one. Our instructors use Lightroom (and at times PhotoShop) as the principle editing program(s) in most of our workshops and through simple functions, you can add exposure, remove spots, crop and much more. In edit, we also provide many critique opportunities to review your work prior to printing.
show
And finally, we want to take our students back to one of the most satisfying aspects of capturing a great image - show. This segment focuses on teaching our students how they want to share their images. Through our various workshops, students are able to decide if their images are for digital viewing or maybe budding artist aspirations to exhibit in a museum one day. Classes are designed to provide students with the possibilities and potential of transforming their images into artwork.
